More Fiction for sale
In my continuing commitment to make fiction available online, I’ve added two more stories to the store.
Least of My Brethren is a story set in my Purgatory Station universe. I also think it is simply one of the best stories I’ve ever written. I produced it for an anthology titled Sol’s Children edited by Jean Rabe and Martin H. Greenberg. More importantly, I wrote it right after we’d had to put one of our dogs to sleep. Emotions and questions drove the story and it just came out great. (Last year I converted it into an audio play which was performed at DragonCon.) In this tale, Father Flynn falls himself called to a small mining station in the asteroid belt (but not near Stackpole). There’s been an accident, and one of the miners needs the Last Rites. What Flynn discovers is a quandry, and an immortal soul hanging in the balance.
Brewed Fortune is a Merlin Bloodstone tale of mystery and the occult. At the Arizona Renaissance festival, Bloodstone and his aide, Connor Moran, run across an ancient mystery. It’s going to take blood to solve it and, unfortunately, it looks like that blood has to be Connor’s. The story was originally written for the Renaissance Faire anthology, edited by Andre Norton and Jean Rabe.
Each story costs $2.00.
