Kid Binary and the Two-Bit Gang
I am pleased to offer for sale Kid Binary and the Two-Bit Gang.
This is a story I wrote over ten years go, based on my experiences with online gaming, chatting and a one-page article about a chat software called Palace. The article appeared in Entertainment Weekly and talked about a program where people created their own little worlds, and where they wore avatars that looked like cartoon people or pictures of celebrities. Later on, well after I wrote the story, I actually spent time in Palace and enjoyed it.
Second Life is a lot closer to the virtual reality I’d envisioned so many years ago than Palace ever was.
The story runs just over 6200 words and costs $2.
I recall, at the time I wrote it, that I had notes for a lot of other stories set in that universe. If enough folks snag it, I’ll dust that file off and do some more.
